Comprehensive Mold Solutions
CNC Machining & Prototyping Services
Machined prototypes and production parts in engineering plastics and metals, cut on the same floor as the molds we build.
Cut the prototype before you cut the steel
A machined prototype is the cheapest way to hold a design in your hand, test an assembly and show a customer. Because the same team later builds the tool, prototype findings go straight back into the mold design instead of being lost in a handover.
We machine from your STEP data and return parts with an inspection report, so dimensional questions are answered before commitment.
- 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling, turning and EDM
- Engineering plastics, aluminium, brass and steel
- Rapid prototypes in 3-7 working days
- First article inspection report with every batch
What we machine

Rapid prototypes
Functional prototypes machined from the production material so you can test form, fit and function.

Mold inserts and cores
Cavity and core inserts, slides and lifters, machined to the tool drawing and spotted into the plate.

Jigs and fixtures
Assembly fixtures, gauges and checking aids that hold the tolerances your process needs.

Inspection and rework
CMM and optical measurement, plus rework or modification of existing tooling.
Typical capability range
| Parameter | Range |
|---|---|
| Maximum part envelope | Up to 1,000 x 600 x 500 mm |
| Positional tolerance | ±0.01 mm on critical features |
| Surface finish | Ra 0.8 achievable by fine machining; mirror polish by hand |
| Materials | P20, 718H, NAK80, S136, H13, aluminium 7075/6061, brass, POM, PC, ABS, PA |
| Prototype lead time | 3-7 working days depending on geometry |
How a machining job runs
01
Data review
We check the model for machinable geometry, tolerances and datum strategy and confirm the material.
02
Process plan and quotation
Tooling, fixturing, machining sequence and inspection plan, issued with the price.
03
Machining
Roughing, semi-finishing and finishing with in-process checks; heat treatment or surface treatment where specified.
04
Inspection
Dimensional report against the drawing, with photographs of the finished part.
05
Delivery
Packed for export, with the inspection report and material certificates if required.
Frequently asked questions
Do you machine prototypes in the final production material?
Yes, and we recommend it. Machining from the intended production grade exposes shrinkage, warpage and assembly issues that a different material would hide.
Can you modify an existing mold with CNC work?
Frequently. Insert replacement, gate changes, cooling improvements and cavity corrections are routine work in our tool room.
How do you handle tight tolerances?
We agree the datum scheme and the critical dimensions in writing before machining, then inspect against exactly that list — not against every dimension on the drawing.
Can you supply parts and tooling together?
Yes. Many customers start with a machined prototype, move to a production tool and then take volume parts from the same supplier.
